MediPro Multi Complete without Iron is a multiple vitamin/mineral formula designed to support the nutritional needs of surgical and non-surgical weight-loss patients. Individuals with higher BMIs are at greater risk for low levels of many important vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin D, folate, selenium and more. Both medical and surgical weight loss can raise the risk for further reductions of nutritional status simply through the reduction of food intake. While individuals who lose weight on diets that are restricted in calories and structured in macronutrients, these dietary changes can come at the cost of reduced or altered intake of vitamins and minerals. Bariatric surgical procedures further increase the risk for nutritional challenges. Depending on the procedure there is the potential for decreased food intake, changes in food intake, maldigestion and malabsorption.
